Box FS180

Box FS180

Source: reactionvm · channel

A box FS180 means doing a 50-50 and rotating frontside 180 degrees off the end. You ride onto the box normally, then spin as you exit. Start with heelside 50-50 to FS180 off, then progress to toeside and switch variations.

Think of it as two moves back-to-back instead of one combined move. Ride the whole box in a clean 50-50, and only when you feel the tail leaving the end of the box do you pop and spin. Trying to set up the spin while you're still sliding usually ends with you falling off the side of the box.

Key tips

  • Get fully comfortable with 50-50s in all stances first
  • Initiate the spin at the end of the box, not in the middle
  • The rotation comes from your upper body. Wind up slightly before the end
  • Land riding switch with knees bent
  • Keep the handle close through the rotation
  • A small pop off the end gives you the airtime to finish the spin cleanly
