    50-50 (All Stances)

    obstacles

Once you have the regular 50-50 dialed, learn it in switch, toeside approach, and switch toeside approach. Each approach changes how you pop onto the box and how your weight is distributed. The goal is to feel equally comfortable riding the box from any direction, because every box spin you'll learn later starts from one of these four approaches.

    Key tips

    • Switch 50-50 is usually the easiest next step after regular
    • Toeside approach needs a different pop timing. Practice the approach without the box first
    • Keep your base flat on the box regardless of how you got there
    • Focus on clean ride-offs. Don't edge too early coming off the end
    • On toeside approaches, the common mistake is over-rotating. Aim straighter than feels right
