What you'll learn

A backside 180 is often one of the first spin tricks snowboarders learn after frontside 180s. A very stylish trick in which you rotate backside and land looking back.

Here is a youtube guide on how to land your first backside 180

The idea

Your first backside 180 should always be done on the slope.

step 1 - setup: Come in on a gentle toside edge with an open chest. step 2 - pop and rotate: as you pop you turn your head looking back, then comes the arms and shoulers. Pull the board around last. step 3 - landing: Land on your heel-side edge and keep looking back so you dont overrotate.

extra tip: For a lot of people it helps to initiate the rotation with the back arm ('throwing' it back)
