A shifty is a trick where you tweak the board sideways behind you in the air while keeping your upper body mostly facing forward. Start with a solid wake jump and good pop, then at the peak of the jump rotate your hips and legs so the board turns about 90 degrees behind you. Keep your shoulders stable and the handle close to your front hip, then untwist the board before landing and ride away centered over the board.

Key tips:
- Stay relaxed in the air.
- Don’t over-rotate your shoulders.
- Practice straight airs first for better control.
