    Melon Grab

    What this trick is

    The Melon is a front-hand grab on the heel edge, between your feet — the heelside cousin of the Mute.

    How to do it

    1. Ride in balanced. Keep your weight centered and your shoulders aligned with your board as you approach the lip. Pop smoothly off both feet to give yourself a stable platform in the air.

    2. Pop and reach. Tuck your knees up to your chest and reach your front hand behind your front leg to grab the heel edge, directly between the bindings. Always bring the board up to your hand; don't fold your upper body over to chase it.

    3. Release early. Let go of the edge as you spot your landing, put your front arm back out for balance, and ride away clean.
