Flatground BS 360
Preparation
Before sending a 360 off a side-hit, a kicker, or a park jump...it's a great idea to first learn them traversing a slope.

How to Flatground Backside 360
-
The setup - Come onto your toe edge and traverse across the slope at a shallow angle and a moderate speed. In your stacked position, create a bend in your knees whilst remaining balanced on the toe-edge, giving yourself a strong base to pop from. Initiate the pre-wind by facing your chest and hips towards your direction of travel, bring your elbows parallel to your shoulders and bring your hands in front of your chest (like you're about to give yourself a fist bump).
-
The trick - When you are ready - initiate the spin by throwing your lead shoulder towards the slope and behind you. As soon as your lead shoulder is facing the slope, pop your board from the snow, ensuring to keep your legs raised throughout the full rotation (it can be easy to catch an edge here if you don't keep your board lifted).
-
The landing - After you initiate the rotation and pop the 360, you can look straight down towards your board to spot the landing underneath you. Landing back onto your toe edge in a stable stacked position.
Unlike a 360 off a park jump or a side hit - depending on your speed and the height of your pop, you won't have much time to spot the landing. The whole 360 may come around in a blur.
Get used to the pop, rotation, and spotting needed by trying to spin a 270 first, landing flat based and facing directly down the slope.
Common mistakes
-
Ensure you take off from a strong toe edge stance with a good prewind, the trick isn't hard to land if you have those two dialled.
-
Keep your back straight and try to keep your shoulders as parallel as possible during the rotation.
-
Make sure to pop from both feet and to keep your legs lifted throughout the whole rotation, otherwise your risk catching the tip or edge in the snow
