    Pop Shuvit (shove-it)

    ManVsBoard renec112

    Skill:
pop the tail and rotate the board 180 degrees beneath my feet
    Switch:
    Can be ridden switch
    Prerequisites:
    Hippie jump, Shuvit (Shove-it), Ollie

    What this trick is

Pop-shuvit is a progression from the standard shuvit, but with the tail hitting the ground and popping into the air as it initiates it's rotation.

    Before you try it

You should be able to do a stadard shuvit without the tail hittitng the ground, and be confident at an ollie. Being good at hippie jumps helps too!

    How to do it

    1. Foot position - Similar an ollie: back foot centre of the tail, front foot just behind front bolts.

    2. Weight - Keep your weight even over both feet.

    3. Jump whilst flicking the tail down towards the ground.

    4. Scoop just before the tail makes contact with the ground, and use your front foot to gently guide the rotation as it moves up and out of the way.
    5. Keep your feet above the board as it rotates 180
    6. Catch the board with both feet and land!

    Common mistakes

    • Weight too far forwards - board shoots back (and vice-versa). Keep your weight even over both feet.
    • Trying to use the front foot to rotate the board. The front foot gently guides as the back foot does most of the work!

How to know you've got it

Consitently getting a strong pop that bounces the board high into the air. You can catch the boradboard mid-air and land moving forwards without tic-tacking.
