Tail tap
Skill: do a tail tap out of a feature
A tail tap is the first thing you add to a 50/50 once straight boxes feel boring. You slide the box flat-based as normal, then near the end you hop off both feet and kick the back of the board down so the tail smacks the lip of the box on the way out. It's a small move, but it's the one that makes a plain box slide look like a trick.
Try it on flat snow first, off the feature entirely. Ride slowly, hop off both feet, and extend the back leg so the tail slaps the snow behind you. If you can do that without spinning off-axis or sitting down, the box version is the same movement with a target.
