Back Lip (Box)

Back Lip (Box)

A back lip (also called HS BS90) means approaching the box on your heelside, popping onto it, and rotating backside 90 degrees so the board is perpendicular to the feature. You end up facing away from the direction you came from while sliding across the box.

Key tips

  • The backside rotation feels different from frontside — you turn away from the cable
  • Pop and rotate together off the ramp, not on the box surface
  • Keep your weight centered once you're on the box
  • Look at the end of the box to maintain balance
  • Ride off the end and rotate back to normal riding
