Kicker BS180 (S-Kicker)
The backside counterpart to the kicker FS180. Same kicker, same airtime — but you rotate the other way, turning your back toward the cable as you leave the ramp. Most riders find BS180s feel more "blind" than frontside because you lose sight of the landing for part of the rotation.
Approach on a heelside edge exactly like a straight air, then initiate the rotation from your back shoulder as you pop off the lip. The handle stays in front of your body the whole time — no handle pass required, which is why this is actually easier than the FS180 for many riders.
Key tips
- Get comfortable with straight airs off the S-kicker first
- Initiate the spin at the lip, not before — spinning early on the ramp kills your pop
- Lead with the back shoulder; the hips and board follow
- The handle stays in front of you — no pass
- Look over your front shoulder to spot the landing
- Land switch with soft knees
