Toeside Turning

A toeside turn means pressing your toes down so the toe-side edge of the board cuts the water. You face away from the cable, which feels unnatural at first. It is harder than a heelside turn: the position is less stable and mistakes come easier. Rotate your hips toward the cable and keep the handle low near your front hip. At this level, do not turn toeside on the approach to an obstacle or kicker — the toe edge is more likely to catch the water than heelside, and you can slam down hard.

Once your toeside turn is solid, it unlocks many advanced tricks and line options.
