A [frontside 180](/snowboarding/frontside-180) is one of the first freestyle tricks most snowboarders learn. In a Flat Ground 180, you don't use any kicker and just do it on the slope. Your chest rotates toward the downhill side during the takeoff. You land [riding switch](/snowboarding/riding-switch), so the trick only really clicks once switch riding feels at least passable.

- **Step 1** - setup: Ride in on a gentle heel-side edge with closed shoulders

- **Step 2** - pop and rotate: as you're popping (the same [ollie](/snowboarding/ollie) pop you already know) turn your head and shoulders forward creating the frontside rotation then bring the board around with the momentum.

- **Step 3** - land: land on the toe-side edge. Remember to keep looking forward and ride it out
