## What this trick is

Varial Heelflip is the combination of a front shuv and a heelflip where the board rotates frontside under your feet whilst flipping like a heelflip!

## Before you try it

You should already be able to do a front shuv and a heelflip. A good ollie and front 180 helps too!

## How to do it

1. **Back foot**: Toes on the heelside edge of the tail and heel overhanging, angled slightly backwards. **Front foot**: In the exact centre of the board (equidistant between the nose and tail), toes overhanging the edge of the deck.
2. The trick - Pop like a front shuv whilst sliding your front foot straight forwards. Lean backwards slightly as you pop to prevent it rotating too far behind you whilst you yourself move backwards with the board. **This takes practice!**
3. Bring your feet up so the board can rotate underneath you.
4. Catch the board and land!

## Common mistakes

- Giving up! This one takes practice to figure out exactly how to pop the board, how to flick and how to land.
