## What this trick is

A fakie shuvit spins the board 180 degrees under your feet whilst travelling backwards (fakie). It's often regarded as the easiest shuvit variation but is dependant on being confident riding in fakie stance.

## Before you try it

Be confident riding fakie and also performing fakie hippie jumps, as the difficulty is landing back on the board after it has rotated whilst moving fakie!

## How to do it

1. The fakie shuv can be performed at low speeds, so start with a slow fakie roll at first. Have your back foot on the tail with toes near the toe side edge ready to scoop and your front foot in your usual riding position. Keep your shoulders parallel with the board and anticipate catching the board again once it has rotated.
2. Jump up and forwards around a decks width. As you jump, scoop gently behind you. The board will pivot easily over the back truck.
3. Be ready to return your back foot after the scoop to meet the nose of the board as it roates around to it's new postion.
4. Land both feet back on the board and continue rolling fakie!

## Common mistakes

- Scooping too hard. The board spins effortlessly over the pivot point when travelling fakie, try not to over-spin it!
- Not landing the back foot back on the board after the scoop. This comes with confidence! Aim to land your toes closer to the board each time you try the trick until they start touching the deck. Eventually you will land fully on it!
